How did we get our start?
The founders – mother and son – were frustrated by having to choose between the risk of slipping and saying no to their favorite outdoor activities. So, they decided to challenge the global footwear giants and created shoes for running and walking on slippery surfaces.

Icebug has made good on the promise as a participant in the UN Climate Change Secretariat’s Climate Neutral Now initiative. Icebug has emerged as a leader on climate action in the outdoor sector. Icebug has made a commitment to hold themselves accountable for their climate footprint. This commitment means that they will strive to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that result from their manufacturing activities further than they already have.
Icebug has offset all historical carbon emissions and since 2019 we’re offsetting 200% of emissions caused, getting recognized by the UN as the World’s Pioneering climate positive outdoor footwear brand. We’ve already made substantial reductions and have committed to cut emissions by 50% to 2030 and be net-zero by 2050 – following the roadmap to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees.

Grip Technology – BUGrip is the name of Icebug’s grip technology for the most slippery conditions. A BUGrip sole is made of a special rubber compound and has 13-19 integrated steel studs. This dynamic function makes the studs adapt to the surface and provide the best possible traction on anything from dry asphalt to pure ice.
Waterproof GORE-TEX Membrane – 100% waterproof and are engineered with GORE-TEX Extended Comfort Footwear technology that carries the “GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY” promise. Water stays on the outside while perspiration can easily escape from the inside.
Sustainability is the most important thing we do – Upper with bluesign 100% recycled PET polyester. GORE-TEX lining is Bluesign and meets Oeko-Tex criteria. Insock liner made of bluesign, solution dyed, recycled polyester/ Ortholite Hybrid. Midsole compound made with 20% BLOOM foam EVA.
